Workplace Dream (Full Article)
Scene 1:The dream began in a large office or factory where all the men were forced to have desks side-by-side with no partitions. The place was run very rigidly (coming and going, lateness, breaks, etc.) and every one felt threatened, even to move or walk around. In this part of the dream I found myself making my way to the head office and going in to talk to some people and then back to the work place, without really feeling threatened.
Scene 2: I remember laying face down in the office workplace on empty milk crates put end to end and while in this position, I began gathering into small piles with my fingers, some small food scraps that had fallen on the floor (Thinking it would be easier to find and pick them up later.).
Scene 3: I found myself working in a small store of some kind like a dry goods store, doing menial tasks, such as sweeping, etc. There was no pressure; in fact it was more like being a volunteer than work. It seemed to be run by a woman and my impression was that she ran a “tight ship”. As I began to leave the store going out the door to the street I realized that I had a safety belt attached about my waist, which was also attached inside the store. I remarked while standing at the door, ” I guess I need to unhook the safety belt before I leave”.
Scene 4: I was walking in the streets with one or two other men. The skies looked very threatening with dark clouds. However, it was not raining at the time, but the streets had already been flooded with streams of water running everywhere from the rain that had already fallen. We had to go around them in order to get where we were going, but it seemed by avoiding the impassable it brought us back to the same place where we started from.
Scene 5: On my way back to the large office (I was alone at this point) there were very dark low hanging storm clouds visible overhead. As I approached the workplace I could see all the people sitting at the desks were exposed to the weather because there was no roof or walls, just a structure. As I stood and watched I realized that no one was aware of their situation, that they were about to be exposed to in the coming storm. I knew that the downpour was about to begin and I was wondering what everyone would do? End of Dream
Work Place Environment (Scene 1)
The work environment is going to become very tight. A change had already occurred and cutting corners seemed to be the norm. The ones that will thrive in this threatening environment will be those who have God's favor and His wisdom regarding our relationships and will walk without fear or intimidation in the workplace. (The Scriptures say:
Matt. 10:16 “ Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
Retirement Conditions (Scene 2):
Retirement with ease will not be as comfortable as people presently think and for many their retirement baskets (milk creates) will be empty, with the hard times ahead. Note the place of rest and contentment lying on the milk creates, a lesson we need to learn now:
Phil. 4:11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
The scraps that I was gathering and scraping together of bits of food that had fallen on the floor seemed to be very precious to me in the dream. It was not a very pretty picture, just enough to barely live on, and conservation of wasteful practices will be essential for some. Saving only a little, hoping that it will be there for the future.
Future High Profile Scriptures:
1Tim. 6:6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.
1Tim. 6:7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.
1Tim. 6:8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.
Living in the Safe Place (Scene 3):
Looking at “the small dry goods store run by the “prudent woman” in the dream I see as the household of God pictured for us in the Proverbs 31 Woman: v10-31; and we see her (the bride of Christ) as the caretaker. In the dream it is a place where you serve humbly and voluntarily. In these verses we have the governmental provision of God when we align ourselves and live by His Kingdom principles. The household of God encompasses the Holy Spirit who provides illumination of wisdom, planning, nourishment, safety, fruitfulness, favor, and proper relationships compared to those who are sold out to the world. Here is a brief comparison of a person living in God’s household and one who is part of the lukewarm Church of Laodicea that had closed the doors of their heart. Part of Jesus final response to them was- “I stand at the door and knock” in Rev.3: 20:
Proverbs 31 Woman :v10-31 Compared to Rev 3:14-22 (Laodicea Church)
– Provision Daily – Lord wants to dine with them, but He is outside
– Light in the Darkness – Spiritual blindness
– Security and Peace for the Future – Miserable: Lack of God's presence
– Covering of Royalty/Favor – Naked
– Help for the poor & destitute – Concern is only for riches of this world
– Ready for Natural Calamities – Depending on Riches of this world, not God
– Submitted to the Gov. of God –Will not submit to discipline
– Truth and righteousness – Were not listening to God's voice
– Smiles at the Future – No future with Him, unless they repented
Leaving the Safe Place
In the dream I was making a conscious decision to leave “God's household” and the door I was going through and about to close behind me to go into the world was a symbol of my heart's condition. Once I decided to leave that Godly household environment (I do not only mean just a Church organization) I had unbuckled the safety belt He has provided for me in this world, His presence and the body of Christ. Leaving the safety of a prudent Godly guidance and environment and trying to make one's own way in the world using our natural talents will get us no where, as in the dream, especially in the uncertainties ahead. Many times we do not realize it until it is too late and it is hard to find our way back because of our enemy's subtleties.
The Street Scene (Scene 4):
In this scene it seems I was walking with other businessmen, obviously trying to get somewhere, in the world, but because of the flooding from previous effects of the storm we made no headway. (These were not evil men just worldly businessmen seeking worldly pursuits.) I could not see the street or the path of the sidewalks and had to walk where there was no rushing water. Even though there was a lull in the storm, the biggest danger was ignoring the storm clouds overhead about to be unleashed and to be caught unsheltered, without preparation. I had to make compromises in my Christian journey in order to make my way in pursuing the riches of this world. We didn’t care where the streets or sidewalk paths were and we were more concerned about getting to where we wanted to go. In doing so the dream showed lack of concern for the paths of righteousness.
Unprepared for the Storm (Scene 5):
The dream progresses as I returned to a scene that indicates the world is not aware of, nor is the nation prepared for the storm in any way in it’s departing from normalcy, except to economize its work force and tighten its demands on workers. This potential storm shows the coming sudden interruption of employment on a huge scale. What will be societies' reaction? What will be the Government's reaction? What will be our reaction?
The dream leaves us with many unanswered questions and we may not have the grace to face the answers right now but, to be sure, God will give us the money for the ticket when we have to get on that train. However, within the dream is revealed certainties of that place of choice, our choice; the safe haven to prepare right now- our saving relationship with Jesus Christ and other true believers in the body of Christ. Eccl. 4:10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.
Eccl. 4:11 Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone?
Eccl. 4:12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.

The key is to prepare beforehand for the future. Forego present momentary elusive pleasures. Know that in answering the heavenly call now, there will be a sure reward for the temporary sacrifices made for the hope of the promises awaiting each of us in heaven. Remember, always look up for our redemption draws near.
