Life Raft Dream (Full Article)

I found myself going into a salvage surplus store to shop. The backroom held large quantities of videotapes, more than I could count. They seem to be all types of movies, cartoons, etc. that were for sale, stacks and stacks of them.

Next Scene: I then came across three large packages of cereal that were like wheat bran flakes of some kind and they were marked as “orange relish” flavored. The packages were at least a six foot tall and shaped like a life raft and almost as wide. The outer wrapper of the one I was examining was extremely worn and torn, but upon inspection the inner packages it contained were okay and were completely sealed in plain brown paper. On making the examination and removing some of the outer packaging I came across a label and at a glance I could see that the packages inside had been marked down because the date probably had been expired. The owner quickly snatched it away so I could not examine it.

Next Scene: When I brought the large life raft shaped package up to the cash register another believer was examining it and was starting to pick at the paper to tear a small hole in the paper packaging of the cereal inside to see what the cereal was like, but I quickly said “do not do that because it will not last that long in storage if you do”. End of Dream

Interpretation:

The scores of unsold videotapes meant that entertainment would not satisfy people’s hunger because they will be in search of day-to-day food provisions in very lean times.

Three Life Rafts
Understanding “The way of a ship in the middle of the sea” from proverbs 30:19 is of paramount importance because it is a picture of safety and provision for the believer in the midst of the sea of Nations. Many times in Scripture a ship is utilized as an allegory to express the believer or the corporate church in this world. Rev. 13:1 is a picture of the sea of nations during particular turbulent times at the end of the age. The only hope that is truly present in a physical way in this world is the Church because of who we are in Christ.

The number three seems to point us to what is essential, perfect, substantial, complete, and Divinely provided for us to steward. Our journey is changing like it did in Jesus day when He told His disciples to take things with them on their journey they did not need before:

Luke 22:35 ¶ And He said to them, “ When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.”

Luke 22:36 And He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one.

Only a fool would have ignored these instructions, so we too are to hear the Holy Spirit and know when our season is changing.

The dream seemed to indicate there will be a time when you will have to use wisdom to acquire what you will need for the future while you can, when conditions are about to change from orange on the way to red. It is better to prepare while conditions are still orange than waiting for them to turn red. Business practices will change and will become more deceptive. Expiration dates did not matter in the dream and will not in the future because of scarcity.

The provisions will become scarce and what you store at some point for the future may well be life sustaining and something to be needed and appreciated. It is to be like a “Joseph's Pantry”, where longevity will count and can be used to help others. The dream tells me that whatever is coming will not be over very quickly.

Collectively the Website’s dreams, interpretations and prophecies should give us a heightened awareness of things to come and challenges us to seriously consider preparations that may have been overlooked. Do not act without prayer and weighing the risks or consequences considering the season that is approaching:

Eph. 5:15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
Eph. 5:16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Questions we may consider asking Him in prayer –
1. Why did He give these dreams?
2. What is He saying to us?
3. What action is to be taken by us?

A Reminder from the High Seas

A sunken ship graveyard off the coast of Bermuda in sight of land exists where unsuspecting seasoned captains or the inexperienced were fooled into thinking they could come under full sail as they approached their beautiful destination and safe haven. A brief review of the many causes of shipwrecks cautions us as Christians to be careful and heed the warnings in Scripture that as vessels of faith, we are not immune to destruction from presumption, thinking it is faith. Just to name a few that caused many a proud vessel to be destroyed: blown off course by a storm, poor visibility, not posting a lookout, overconfidence in familiar waters, overconfidence in unfamiliar but serene waters, thinking the ship was invincible.

A recent example: The Italian cruise ocean liner where the captain was distracted and took his eyes off of his navigation and true mission and ended up being shipwrecked on the rocks in sight of the shoreline.

Is. 25:4 For Thou hast been a defense for the helpless, A defense for the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall.

Is. 43:15 “I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.”

Is. 43:16 Thus says the LORD, Who makes a way through the sea And a path through the mighty waters,

The hope we have is not only a state of emotions, which can easily change, but is pictured in the scripture as a solid anchor that can hold us fast in the midst of a storm. Hope may be intangible, but its effects are not because it keeps us from drifting. Keeping hope fixed on Christ’s presence keeps our hearts firmly in place:

Is. 26:3 “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.

“The Church in the Midst of the Sea” is an article I have included in this Website that deals with mindset preparation. Mindset is a set of beliefs or way of thinking that will help change our behavior and outlook as we move forward in the kingdom of God for the journey ahead. It also deals with the life of God collectively on the sailing ship.
