Jacob Generation (Full Article)

I want to speak to you about the Jacob Generation. I believe as Christians we will experience the beginning of God fulfilling the time of Israel’s “Jacobs trouble” in Jer. 30:7. I sense it will suddenly begin in this decade.

Jer. 30:7 Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it;

And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he shall be saved out of it.I believe that by God’s design we will be saved from the things of the world that we are presently in bondage to in the process. We will know what it means to be “set apart” or holy.

It will be imperative that we know the God of Jacob and be able to call upon Him- Our strength, protector and stronghold in the time of trouble.

Psa. 20:1  May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!

In Jeremiah (30:1-3) he is told to write the prophecies down specifically in a book so that their generation would have understanding and remember it when it begins to happen; and also to give them hope showing them that God is in control. I cannot understate that awareness and keen understanding will be needed today, especially for this generation as Daniel Chapters 11 and 12 predicted.

Part 1 of Jacob’s Trouble- Verses 4-7 was the announcement of that day.
I believe the Holy Spirit is saying it applies to us as well and will begin to unfold in this decade:

The downfall of the Babylon worldly system will be triggered by Israel through its moves and policies in the Middle East. It will cause severe economic turmoil just at the time when worldwide recovery seems to be eminent and hopes are high. This will begin the perilous times and begin to usher in sudden darkness and economic collapse, shortages and turmoil that Jesus predicted.

Part 2 of Jacob’s Trouble: Versus 8 – 11 reflects the beginning of the Jewish exodus back to Israel as the scriptures predict:

This Middle East scenario will cause worldwide persecution of all Jews to the extent that many, if not most, will have to leave the nations they reside in and return to Israel. (In spite of the fact that they presently have great influence in the Media, Government, Education, Economics, Religion, Arts & Entertainment, and Society in general throughout the nations.).

Part 3 of Jacob's Trouble: The true Church will rise up to help the Jewish people to return to Israel at great costs; in turn the church too will be cast into "exile":

The Church itself will be affected by the downfall of this worlds system economically and be transitioned suddenly into “exile” (By exile I mean living in a radically different Political, Economic & Religious environment because of the “*fog of war” in this nation and world wide). God showed me this very clearly the morning after the 2012 election in Jeremiah: 29, 30, and 31 and it is part of God’s plan for the Church (verse 11). There will be great lifestyle changes and severe challenges to our faith. That is why we will need the extra oil

Ultimately it will be a time of the Church's sanctification and unification, including many falling away in apostasyHowever, it will be the time of its greatest harvest of souls and finest hour.

The true church will be persecuted for coming to the aid of the Jews trying to return to Israel because of worldwide opinion, but will prosper financially and spiritually (Is 45:3) with a great harvest in the world.

Many false prophets will arise in the Church saying it will be over quickly causing people to trust in a lie.

This will be a time when many Jews will begin to turn to their Messiah and the   veil will begin being lifted from their eyes. The reality of the Church and Jewish Messianic believers becoming one will be seen in the midst of the persecution as never before.

The Nation of Israel will become vulnerable in the eyes of the world and the “goat nations” (Those nations who are adversaries or turn their backs on Israel-Matt 25:32) will try to take their advantage.

We are fast approaching the fulfillment of Zechariah Chapter 12 where Jerusalem will become a heavy stone on the nations' scene and those who try to lift it to put it aside will eventually have to contend with God’s wrath:

Zech. 12:9 “And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

*Fog of War
Understanding the “Fog of War” mindset is key for us in our journey ahead. The fog of war is driven by the changing winds of adversity and brings with it a framework that is quite different than life, as we currently know it. Laws are changed or bent to meet the expedience of crises in the world in a moment’s time, as we have already experienced in the current economic and political calamity. History shows us that power hungry entities encourage and create the crisis through subterfuge for the very purpose of taking their advantage in grabbing more control and power.

We as Christians especially, will be entering into this arena in a number of fronts whether we believe it or not and it will be the most precarious time for the Church. People’s morality and behavior will and can change swiftly and radically as fears and desperation rise out of control as “tolerance and compromise” become the norm. From a human nature standpoint it will be difficult to remain buoyant spiritually and in the natural because of great challenges and chaos we will face in the times ahead. Jesus Himself warned and taught this expressly for the generation preceding His coming.

Mark 13:23 “But take heed; behold, I have told you everything in advance.

“Jacobs Trouble” will be lengthy and not short-lived.

True Christians that have the extra oil in their flasks that are living in this Jacob Generation will come into the reality and lifestyle of Psalm 24 and thrive:

Psa. 24:6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face.

The following statements are from John Paul Jackson’s Streams Ministries “Perfect Storm” presentation:

There will be a separation of true Christians from the false (Holy from the profane)

The faithful will ascend to the hill of the Lord, be promoted or elevated

The faithful will live in the thick holy presence of God and hear Him and be guided by His voice.

The gates of heaven will be open to them and difficult questions and strategy will be easily answered and understood with great wisdom.

The Everlasting or Ancient Doors will be open to us and spiritual truths hidden for long periods of time will be revealed.

The insight, strength and power of the Lord will come and Angels will fight on our behalf.

The glory of the Lord will rest upon the Christians household in spite of the darkness around them.

The biggest threats for the Church during the Jacob Generation will be:

– Initially there will be conflict in the Church because of disagreement, even in helping the Jews because of the widespread devastation it has caused.

– The false prophets will say that the Lord is not in the Church's exile–we can pray it away

– After a short while, the false prophets will say that the “exile” will only last a short period of time, giving many false hopes.

– We must be able to hear from the Lord as to how long the darkness will last, so as not to lose hope.

– Many Christians will barter or exchange what they have in their heart for another god in the midst of the “exile”. (Committing adultery with Babylon) Ps 16:4

While Israel will be the center of the worlds consternation there will be many other facets unfolding through the earth affecting mankind. During this period God will reveal Himself as Lord of the earth both in nature, as well as in the affairs of man.

Jer. 30:23 Behold, the tempest of the LORD! Wrath has gone forth, A sweeping tempest; It will burst on the head of the wicked.
Jer. 30:24 The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back Until He has performed and until He has accomplished The intent of His heart; In the latter days you will understand this.

While the tempest will go forth, restoration in Jeremiah chapter 31 will surely follow and so will the Glory of the Lord go forth in the whole earth.

Preparation and Provision for the Jacob Generation

Genesis 28:20-22 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the LORD will be my God and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.” (NIV)

His word to me for our journey ahead: Know that hardship is not meant to weaken, but to strengthen, and suffering endured with purpose and vision brings with it endurance and proven character. It is purely a matter of mindset and focus on the eternal and not on the temporal, for only in this way will you find grace in time of need, says the Lord.”

Knowledge and understanding of coming peril is strategic intelligence, which keeps us from being severely shaken by it. Also it is the beginning of available timely wisdom and strategy, if we are aware of the “day of our visitation” and seek it. Our mindset and what is in our hearts will be key during these times because a double minded person is unstable in all his ways. We must begin to embrace and have a living experience to know the mind and heart of God. Mindset is a set of beliefs or a way of thinking that determines somebody’s behavior and outlook on his journey. The pain of suffering can have a greater affect on us than victory if we are not conditioned for it, and that is why endurance training is so important.
