The Seed to Prepare - Exhortation

The seed (Word) to prepare for perilous times that are ahead has been sown in His Church for some time by the Holy Spirit.

****************************************************************

“A little preparation can go a long way, but no preparation can make you go the wrong way.”

*****************************************************************

The parable of the sower contains 4 groups of people depicting what became of that seed and I will apply it to this stretegic season in the Church today Mark 4: 14-20:

Mark 4:14 The sower sows the word.
Mark 4:15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Mark 4:16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
Mark 4:17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
Mark 4:18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word,
Mark 4:19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Mark 4:20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundredfold.”

1. “Satan comes and immediately takes away the word” v15

One group has been convinced that we will be taken out before real hard times ever come or have presumed on the grace of God and that there is no need to prepare. In any case, I believe that they have allowed the “light” in them to become “darkness” by our enemy and his lies and their perception has become clouded through presumption(pride, denial).

– Some say, “We have heard this before from the prophets, but they do not understand that because of His mercy He has postponed or delayed His judgment.

– Most do not understand that the final thrust of His judgment is always redemptive for the purpose of the Harvest.

– Some have become so “Religious” like Israel in Jesus’ time that we do not know the signs of the times or the day of our visitation.

“Do we know the day of our visitation?”

2. “affliction or persecution arises because of the word” v16-17

The next group I see are those who know it makes sense and are enamored with the idea of doing so at the time, but do not want to sacrifice or face any pain to sacrifice for the future now and are willing to put it off until later. The foundation for tomorrow can wait because the weather looks good and tomorrow will always be available.

– Some fear persecution from other Christians that “you have no faith” and they too will be numbered among the foolish virgins.  No matter our preparations we will need much faith.

“Will He find real faith on earth when He comes?”

3. “the desires for other things enter in and choke the word” v18-19

The next group I believe are those who are so much into the world and are so busy with the pursuit of the better life and believe that things will and are getting better, and therein lies their hope. They are convinced that they can have the best of both worlds. It is a garden that they are tending and laboring in and they do not see the weeds the enemy is continuing to sow into it and their labor is getting harder and harder.

“Catch the little Foxes.” “Trim your Wicks”

4. “hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, anda hundredfold” v20

The last group I see are those who are Kingdom minded and whose desires are to see God’s Kingdom increase, even though it may be costly to them. This group is looking up, drawing nearer to God and trying to fully understand the times and season, with varying degrees of fruitfulness in the process. They know that the hour is late and the lateness of the hour is drawing them into a state of readiness on every front.

“This is the remnant that God is calling in this hour. Go for the hundredfold.”

His Church must have an understanding of the mind and heart of God in these latter days. It is vital that we draw near to Him and one another. Words spoken to His future bride and how He will lead her in the season ahead:

Song 1:8 - “ If you yourself do not know, Most beautiful among women, Go forth on the trail of the flock And pasture your young goats By the tents of the shepherds.

Valley of Achor (trouble) as a Door of Hope.

Hos. 2:14 - “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wildernessAnd speak kindly to her.
Hos. 2:15 “Then I will give her her vineyards from there, And the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.
Hos. 2:16 - “It will come about in that day,” declares the LORD“ That you will call Me Ishi (My husband) And will no longer call Me Baali. (My master or lord as a slave)
Hos. 2:17  - “For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, So that they will be mentioned by their names no more.
Hos. 2:18 - “In that day I will also make a covenant for them With the beasts of the field, The birds of the sky And the creeping things of the ground. And I will   abolish the bow, the sword and war from the land, And will make themlie down in safety.
Hos. 2:19 - “I willbetroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, In lovingkindness and in compassion,
Hos. 2:20 And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the LORD.
Hos. 2:21 - “It will come about in that day thatI will respond,” declares the LORD.
“I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth,
Hos. 2:22    And the earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine and to the oil,
And they will respond to Jezreel.
Hos. 2:23 - “I will sow her for Myself in the land. I will also have compassion on her who had not obtained compassion, And I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’
